Terms of Service
Last updated 19 October 2026.
Who we are
This website is published by Admiral Roofing Specialists Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 11701881. The registered office is 46 St Marys Close, Hessle, East Yorkshire, HU13 0HJ. The company trades as Admiral Roofing Specialists and has traded from that address since 1992. It was incorporated on 28 November 2018.
Email info@admiralroofingservices.co.uk. Telephone 01482 627895. The company details on this page are given for the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Provision of Services Regulations 2009.
We are members of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors. We are a TrustMark registered business for roofing, licence number 226834. The NFRC is the scheme provider. Those memberships are not a statement that every job is insured for a particular sum. Insurance is not described on this website.
The company is registered for VAT. The VAT number is 891383788. Where VAT is charged, the quote will say so and will show the rate and the amount.
These terms
These terms govern your use of admiralroofingservices.co.uk. They are not, by themselves, the contract for roofing work. A contract for work is made only as set out under “Quotes and the contract”.
Please read them with the Privacy Policy, the GDPR Policy and the Cookie Policy. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the site. You may still telephone us about a roof.
Nothing in these terms removes a right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or any other rule that cannot be excluded. If a sentence in these terms would take such a right away, that sentence is to be read down, or ignored, to the extent needed to keep the right.
Using the website
You may use the site to read about the work we do and to ask for a quote. You must not misuse it. In particular you must not attempt to break it, probe it beyond the reporting route in the Privacy Policy, overload it, or send a form that is not a genuine enquiry. You must not use the site to send unlawful, defamatory or misleading material.
We may refuse or ignore a message that is abusive, automated, or not a genuine enquiry about roofing. Filling in the field marked “Leave this blank” causes the message to be discarded.
The pages describe the roofing work the firm offers. They are written in good faith. They are general information, not a survey, not a specification, and not advice about your roof. Roof condition, structure, access and materials differ from house to house. A photograph on the site is an example of work we have carried out, including work in progress. It is explained under “Photographs”.
Quotes and the contract
Nothing on this website is an offer that you can accept merely by using the site or by sending the form. Sending the form, or telephoning us, asks us to consider the roof. It does not oblige us to visit, to quote, or to do the work, and it does not oblige you to proceed.
We look at the roof before we price it. A price is agreed only when you accept a quote from us and we have not withdrawn it. Until that happens, either of us may stop. A written quote is available if you want one. The quote, once accepted, is the record of the work, the price, and the guarantee for that job. The guarantee is at least 12 months. It is often longer, depending on the job, and that period is written in the quote.
We may decline work that is outside the area we cover, or that we are not equipped to do. The towns we cover from the Hessle yard are Hessle, Hull, Beverley, Anlaby, Anlaby Common, Willerby and Woodmansey.
Price and VAT
The website does not publish a price list. The price of a job is the price in the quote, not a figure inferred from these pages. If a quote is silent on a cost, do not assume it is included. Ask us before you accept.
Admiral Roofing Specialists Limited is registered for VAT, number 891383788. The quote will show whether the price includes VAT and will identify the VAT. If VAT is not charged on a particular supply, the quote will not add it.
The work and your rights
If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies to a contract for our services. The service must be performed with reasonable care and skill. If the price or the time has not been fixed by the quote, the price must be reasonable and the service must be performed within a reasonable time. Goods supplied as part of the work, such as tiles, slates or guttering, must match the quote, be fit for purpose, and be of satisfactory quality.
If we fail to do that, the Act gives you remedies, which can include repeat performance or a price reduction. These terms do not exclude or limit those remedies. They do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or for any other liability the law does not allow us to exclude.
If you deal with us as a business, you confirm that you are not acting as a consumer. Your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, where they cannot be excluded, remain in force.
Guarantee
We guarantee the work we agree to do for a minimum of 12 months. The guarantee is often for longer. How long it lasts, and what it covers, is written in the quote you accept and depends on the job. The sentence used on this website, “the work we agree is guaranteed”, means that we stand behind that work for at least 12 months, and for any longer period the quote states. It does not create a longer guarantee, a wider scope, or an exclusion that the quote does not contain. It also does not take away a right the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you. Those rights exist whether or not a guarantee is offered.
Cancellation
Sending the quote form does not make a contract, and it does not start a cancellation period.
If you are a consumer, a contract to supply a service may be an off-premises contract or a distance contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. In outline:
- the contract is an off-premises contract if it is made away from our business premises while we are both present, for example at your home, or if it is made at our premises immediately after a visit to you;
- it is a distance contract if it is made without us both being present, under an organised scheme for distance selling, for example where you accept a written quote by email or telephone;
- a contract made at our premises at 46 St Marys Close, and not immediately after a visit to you, is generally an on-premises contract, and the 14-day cancellation right in those Regulations does not apply to it.
Where the 14-day right applies, you may cancel the service contract within 14 days after the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. To cancel, send a clear statement to info@admiralroofingservices.co.uk or by post to the registered office. You may use these words: “I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following service, ordered on [date]. Name. Address. Signature if sent by post.” If you cancel within the period, we will repay money you have paid for the cancelled service, within 14 days of your notice, less any amount the Regulations allow us to keep.
If you ask us in writing to start work within the cancellation period, you may still cancel, but you must pay a proportionate amount for work done up to the cancellation. If the work is fully performed within the period, you lose the right to cancel if you asked us to start and you acknowledged that you would lose the right once the work was complete. We will ask for that acknowledgement in the quote where we need it. We will not treat silence, or a pre-ticked box, as that request.
A contract for the construction of a new building, or for a substantial conversion of an existing building, can fall outside those Regulations. Ordinary repair, or replacement of a roof covering on a house, usually does not. If you are unsure whether the right applies to your job, ask us before you accept the quote, and you may also ask Citizens Advice.
What we need from you
Please describe the roof honestly, and give a postcode we can visit. Tell us about limits you already know, such as access, occupied rooms under the roof, or a restriction on scaffolding. We still look for ourselves before we price. We are not responsible for a price that was based on a fact you knew and chose not to tell us, to the extent the law allows that result. We remain responsible for what a competent roofer would have seen on the visit.
You are responsible for telling us if you are not the owner, and if an owner, a landlord, a lender or a planning authority must agree before the work can be done. Listed-building consent and planning permission, where they are required, remain the owner’s duty to obtain unless the quote says we will obtain them.
Payment
How and when you pay is set out in the quote, not on this page. This website does not take payment and does not ask for a card number. We will not ask you to pay by sending a card number by email. If a message that claims to be from us asks for that, call 01482 627895 before you pay.
Liability
If you are a consumer, we do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow it. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If you deal with us wholly or mainly as a business, and subject always to liability we cannot exclude, our total liability for loss or damage arising out of a quote or a job is limited to the price of that job. We are not liable to a business customer for loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of goodwill, whether or not we were advised it might occur.
We are not liable for loss caused by your use of a third-party website linked from this site. We are not liable for a failure or delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather that makes roofing unsafe. If that happens we will tell you and agree a revised time. Weather does not remove a right you already have in respect of work that has been done badly.
Intellectual property
The text, the construction drawings and the logo on this site belong to Admiral Roofing Specialists Limited unless a credit says otherwise. You may share a link to a page. You may not copy the drawings or the logo for your own business, and you may not present the text as your own.
You may print a page for your own private use in connection with an enquiry to us. Any other copying needs our written agreement.
Photographs
The photographs of houses and roofs on this site are of roofing work carried out by Admiral Roofing Specialists, including jobs in progress. They are examples. They are not a specification for any other house. The photographs belong to Admiral Roofing Specialists Limited. You may not copy them for your own business.
Links to other sites
The site links to Google, Facebook, OpenStreetMap, Companies House, the NFRC, TrustMark, the Information Commissioner’s Office and Citizens Advice. Those services have their own terms and privacy notices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the destination, and we are not responsible for its content. The contact page includes an OpenStreetMap frame.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with the website or with our work, contact us at info@admiralroofingservices.co.uk or 01482 627895, and give us a reasonable chance to look into it. Say what happened, which property it concerns, and what you would like us to do.
If you are a domestic customer and we do not resolve a complaint about roofing work, you may take it to TrustMark and to the NFRC, which is the scheme provider for our TrustMark registration, licence 226834. TrustMark’s site is trustmark.org.uk. The NFRC member profile is nfrc.co.uk/member/admiral-roofing-specialists.html. You may also ask Citizens Advice about your consumer rights.
These terms do not require you to use arbitration before you go to court. They do not take away a right to bring a claim.
Changes
We may update these terms by publishing a new version on this page. The date at the top will change. A change applies to your use of the website from the date it is published. It does not alter a roofing contract you have already made. That contract stays on the quote you accepted, and on the law that applies to it.
A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce them. If a court finds that part of these terms is unlawful, the rest continues.
Law and courts
These terms, and any dispute about the use of the website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep any mandatory protection of the law of your home country, and you may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. Nothing in this section limits that right.
